Diane Cortes is the Founder and CEO of Acumen Strategist LLC, bringing more than 25 years of professional experience in Human Resources, business operations, leadership, and organizational development.
Throughout her career, Diane has worked with business owners, executives, entrepreneurs, and growing organizations to solve one of the most important challenges in business: building the people, policies, processes, and HR infrastructure necessary to operate successfully.
Her approach to Human Resources goes beyond paperwork. Diane understands that behind every policy, payroll decision, employee concern, new hire, performance issue, and organizational change are people—and behind those people is a business owner trying to make the right decision.
Through Acumen Strategist, Diane serves as a strategic HR partner to small and growing businesses that may not need a full-time Human Resources department but still require experienced, professional HR guidance. She assists organizations with HR structure and compliance, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, payroll administration, employee handbooks and policies, performance management, HR documentation, and the implementation of HR systems and processes.
Her leadership experience extends beyond Human Resources. As a former Chamber of Commerce President, business coach, entrepreneur, and bilingual business leader, Diane has spent years advocating for and mentoring entrepreneurs and small business owners. This experience gives her a unique understanding of HR from both sides of the table—as an HR professional and as a business owner.
Diane is also an educator and Professor of Theology, bringing the same commitment to leadership, service, integrity, and lifelong learning into every area of her professional life.
For Diane, Human Resources is not simply about managing employees. It is about helping business owners protect what they have built, develop stronger organizations, create healthier workplaces, and establish the structure necessary for sustainable growth.
